A very disappointing visit with 4 friends to the ornithological reserve Le Teich - despite a good time of year and time of day classed as excellent by the reserve, we saw very few birds. The high point of the visit was seeing a Water Rail at just a few metres away, the first time I have photographed this species.
After the visit a good meal in a local restaurant, then the hotel for the night. The following day : rain ! Because of the the lack of birds and the bad weather, no-one was motivated for a return visit to the reserve, so we voted for a visit to Bassins de la lumière in Bordeaux - the former WW2 german submarine base, now converted into an audio-visual centre. The projection was entitled "de Vermeer au van Gogh". Conditions quite difficult for photography, almost no light, but I managed to get a few shots of the excellent programme.
