In June I went with my wife to visit the Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux and also to enjoy the Fête de la Musique in the evening.
The Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux are the largest centre of digital art in the world, housed in the former German submarine base from WW2. It consists of four docks each 110m long 22m wide and 12m high equipped with 90 high power video projectors and 80 sound systems projecting into a space of over 12000m2.
There are several presentations offered at any one time.
Impressive !!! We watched two presentations, one about the art and architecture of Venice and the other, entitled Sorolla, walks by the seaside. Both were magnificent and later we spent some time in "The Cube" a 155m2 space where you can sit within the digital projection.
That evening we went into the city centre for the Fête de la Musique, unimaginable crowds, but a friendly atmosphere, music everywhere, but followed by a few anxious moments involving an unrully crowd and tear gas plus a complete absence of public transport. It all worked out OK in the end !
