In July 2024 the association Ad Manaurem 1762 organised masterclasses for six young, exceptionally talented pianists under the artistic direction of Monsieur Denis Pascal, professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He is considered one of the finest teachers of his generation.
With three other photographers from the area I made a photo record of the event.
The six pianists : Erik Breer Genannt Nottebohm, Milda Daunoraite, Hyunji Kim, Bocheng Wang, Dario Zanconi et Adrian Herpe were housed in St Martin de Fressengas and received each day an individual lesson with Monsieur Denis Pascal at the château de la Marthonie. The accomodation, meals and other activities were all arranged and funded by Ad Manaurem 1762.
It was an exceptional experience to be present during the masterclasses, to take photos while listening to such superb music. Sadly, the beautiful room in the château was a nightmare for a photographer : a quite dark room with bright sunlight through south facing windows directly behind the artists.
Oh well - we do what we can !
