Friday 15th December I spent a very enjoyable day at the Beaublanc stadium watching some matches in the WTA Ladies Open. I saw the end of a doubles match then the 1/4 final between Christina Bucsa and Lois Boisson and later the 1/4 final between Harmony Tan and Anna Blinkova.
It is mid November, so it's time for the jazz festival Eclats d'Email, a week and a half of high quality jazz in Limoges (note : "email" in French is enamel, for which Limoges is famous, not electronic mail !). As an accredited photographer I attended 10 concerts during the 2023 season, the first was friday 17th, saxophonist Laurent Bardainne and the group Tigre d'eau douce in the Opera theatre in Limoges. Superb ! I loved his music. More to follow.
The 30 septembre 2023 - The annual Courses de Serveuses et Garçons de Café, the national final in Limoges.
A new feature this year, races for children before the main event for adults : 4km around the city carrying a tray of drinks with penalties for spillage. Frédéric Lanoy from La Rochelle won the men's race and Julia Brissaud, from Limoges, took the women's title for the 7th time !
